MUSIC IN MY LIFE

Eleva: Ionescu Sophia

Imagine: creatie personala

When I am surrounded by music, I feel joy and happiness. Life without music would be gray and sometimes without meaning.

Maybe I am an ordinary child with a taste in music imposed by the ones around me:

  • my parents made me listen to Mozart while growing up, hoping it will affect my intelligence more than genetics will;
  • my grandparents introduced me to folk music, hoping that my feet will feel the beat and Romanian dance hora;
  • my friends keep playing the latest trends, hoping I will be cool.

Sometimes music strikes me like a storm with lightning and thunders and it increases my power and energy. In those moments I feel like I can do anything or at least I try… But there are also times when music brings me the calm and the serenity of a peaceful lake. It is like walking on clouds, hearing harps played by angels … but those are short moments usually spoiled by the soprano voice of my little sister.

Music makes me feel powerful and confident. Every time I listen to it, I feel like my feet can’t stop dancing and I can get through all the obstacles that are trying to stop me.

Life seems wonderful and I want to enjoy every bit of it. Music connects me with nature. I feel that the trees whisper words of wisdom and the wind embraces me and lifts my spirit. In those moments I feel that we all are one and I love everybody and everything around me.

In my happiest moments I hear music even though there is no device around. For example, living by the seaside, I am used to hearing the waves smashing, the seagulls talking, my feet crushing shells and this way a new song may be created…

The right notes at the right time can light up your spirit and bring out your creativity or at least…your best dance moves…

Souvenir

When still sets the light, And neither gold blooms, I anticipate the sight, Amid your faded plumes. A bygone visage so ideal, Feelings warm as used to be, For your form is taken free, From a souvenir once real. Overbearing comes the light, Muffled by my silken sheet, When too late sets the night, And […]
