Learning Beyond Borders: A Collaborative eTwinning Journey at Carmen Sylva Theoretical High School

In today’s dynamic educational landscape, learning extends far beyond the walls of the classroom. At “Carmen Sylva” Theoretical High School in Eforie, teachers Apostol Elena Mădălina and Manea Eleonora and twelve gymnasium students take part in an inspiring eTwinning project which brings together students and international partners in a meaningful journey of collaboration, creativity, and life skills development.

This project is designed as an interactive and flexible learning experience, where cooperation with partner schools plays a key role. Activities, timelines, and outcomes are continuously refined through teamwork, ensuring that all participants actively contribute to shaping the project. Also, students meet online and take part in various activities designed to help them get to know each other better.

A Well-Structured and Engaging Calendar

The project unfolds over several months, each dedicated to a specific area of development, blending creativity, critical thinking, and digital competence.

December – Building the Foundation & Literacy Skills The journey begins with setting up the project framework. Partners are invited, students are added to the TwinSpace platform, and everyone is encouraged to actively engage in the online environment. A welcoming atmosphere is created through a collaborative Padlet, while students also contribute to designing the project logo and poster.

January – Mathematics in Real Life In January, students explore mathematics through hands-on experiences

February – Discovering Science Through Experimentation Science comes alive through engaging experiments

March – Developing Digital Competence Students strengthen their digital skills using modern tools

April – Citizenship and Social Responsibility The final unit emphasizes empathy, responsibility, and active citizenship

Assessment and Recognition

Feedback is regularly collected to improve the learning process and adapt activities based on students’ needs and partner collaboration.

A Transformative Experience

This eTwinning project is more than a series of activities—it is a transformative experience that empowers students to become active learners, creative thinkers, and responsible citizens. By working together across borders, students not only develop essential skills but also build lasting connections and a deeper understanding of the world around them.

Through collaboration, innovation, and shared learning, this project truly reflects the spirit of modern education.
